Beautiful face on the plates

Beautiful face on the platesFornasetti plate

I’ve seen this beautiful face on the plates, candles, and mugs very often.

But I never knew who she is. I only knew that I like them, and the items are costly.

So, finally, I researched her. She was an Opera singer, Lina Cavalieri.

I guessed she was a wife of the artist Fornasetti, but she wasn’t. On the contrary, they never met each other. How interesting!

In interviews, Fornasetti is often asked why he chose Lina as his muse. Then he replies, “I don’t know. I began to make them and never stopped.”

After all, I like her beautiful face on the plates more than ever now!

Here are some of my favorites Fornasetti items I want to own!
